Dr. Emma Beatty
Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Dr. Emma Beatty is a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a deep passion for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people.Â
She graduated with honours from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2006 and began her career in medical paediatrics, where she developed a strong foundation in child development and physical health. Over time, her interest naturally evolved toward the emotional and psychological needs of children, leading her to specialise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She completed psychiatric training in the West of Ireland gaining experience across a wide variety of mental health difficulties, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has most recently been employed for a number of years as a consultant with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), supporting young people with a wide range of mental health challenges.Â

Dr. Beatty is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (Paediatrics), the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK), and the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland. This dual background informs her holistic and developmental approach to mental healthcare. She brings a strong background in service development, having led award-winning initiatives aimed at improving care for young people and their families.Â

Dr. Beatty has a particular interest in neurodiversity, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). She has extensive experience in the assessment and support of neurodivergent children and adolescents. Dr. Beatty works closely with families, schools, and other agencies to ensure children receive the support they need to reach their potential. Her work is grounded in thoughtful, practical, and evidence-based care, rooted in a deep understanding of the challenges facing children and families today.
