Dr Aran Tomac, MD, PhD.Specialties: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; General (adult) Psychiatry

Dr. Aran Tomac graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. He went on to complete specialist training in general (adult) psychiatry in 2006 and child and adolescent psychiatry in 2011.


For over 10 years, Dr. Tomac worked as a clinical lecturer at the University of Zagreb's Schools of Medicine and the School of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences. He holds adjunct assistant professor status at the Graduate Entry Medical School, University of Limerick and continues to publish scientific research and present at professional conferences both nationally and internationally.


Dr Tomac completed his PhD in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with a focus on adolescent self-harm behaviours. Since 2016, he has been working as a consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (Community CAMHS) and as a General (Adult) Psychiatrist in the Republic of Ireland.


Dr. Tomac is a member of the Medical Council of Ireland, the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland, the General Medical Council, and an International Associate of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (United Kingdom). In addition, Dr. Tomac speaks English, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and German, allowing him to easily communicate with a diverse patient population. Dr. Tomac also has a special interest in working with ADHD patients and a strong research and practice interest in nature-based prevention and treatment approaches, including biofeedback, which he hopes to bring to Neuromed Clinic in the near future.


With his rare dual training in child/adolescent and adult psychiatry, academic background, research experience and multilingual skills, Dr. Tomac is uniquely equipped with invaluable experience to treat psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. His crossover expertise and ability to connect with patients makes him an invaluable asset to the mental health field.
