Anna Glynn

Senior Occupational Therapist

Anna Glynn is a Senior Occupational Therapist with over a decade's experience in psychiatry, currently working in the Acute Adult Mental Health Unit in Galway City. She holds a Master's in Occupational Therapy and a Master's in Psychotherapy, with specialised training in DBT, EMDR, MBT, trauma therapy, family therapies, WRAP, health coaching, and the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills.


Her practice emphasises a holistic, recovery-focused approach to mental health, with particular expertise in suicide prevention and self-harm interventions. She is currently conducting phase two of a research study funded by the National Office of Suicide Prevention (NOSP).


As a Trauma Specialist Yoga Teacher, Anna has seven years' experience in Autism and ADHD services, utilising sensory approaches and expertise in Sensory Attachment Intervention, PECS, and Lámh communication.


She believes in the therapeutic use of occupation for wellbeing and the mind-body connection, helping individuals identify strengths, build motivation and resilience, and work towards fulfilling lives.


In September 2023, Anna presented research with colleagues at the 32nd World Congress of the International Association of Suicide Prevention (IASP) in Piran, Slovenia. She is currently participating in innovative research trials investigating psychedelics for mental health issues and has completed specific training in psychedelic therapy.
