Dr Israa Elkashif is a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult and Rehabilitative Psychiatry, and a member of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and the College of Psychiatry of Ireland.

Dr Elkashif graduated with honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2013 and commenced specialist training in psychiatry in 2014. She has trained across a range of centres including Dublin, Kilkenny, Louth, and Galway, gaining broad clinical experience in the assessment and management of mental health difficulties across diverse settings.

She has developed a strong interest and expertise in forensic and medico-legal psychiatry, having completed specialist training in the Central Mental Hospital, where she gained extensive experience in the assessment of individuals within the criminal justice system. Her work includes medico-legal assessments relating to fitness to be tried, mental state at the time of the alleged offence, risk assessment, and the preparation of detailed court reports.

At Neuromed Clinic Ireland, Dr Elkashif provides independent medico-legal psychiatric assessments and reports, delivering clear, balanced, and evidence-based opinions to support legal proceedings. Her approach is thorough and objective, with particular emphasis on careful formulation, comprehensive risk assessment, and the application of clinical expertise to legal questions.
